Cherishing Precious Moments: The Heartwarming Wall at Forefront Living Post date July 1, 2024 In the heart of the Forefront Living main office, there exists a special wall that serves as a testament to the compassion, creativity and community spirit that define our team. This wall is not just a collection of mementos; it is a living chronicle of the many precious moments we have been privileged to be a part of over the years. Each item displayed tells a story and reemphasizes the profound impact that small acts of kindness can have on the lives of others. One of the most touching displays on this wall is a collection of handmade holiday cards created for our residents and hospice patients during the winter of 2020. This was a time when the world was grappling with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the warmth and thoughtfulness inside these cards by a group of elementary school children, brought immense joy and comfort to our community. Among the vibrant pieces adorning the wall are two paintings of cockerels by Presbyterian Village North (PVN) resident, Pam Altizer and the renowned actress and artist Jane Seymour. These artworks were created virtually during the pandemic, a testament to the resilience and adaptability of artists and communities alike. At the center of this cherished wall is a deeply moving tribute to an in-home Faith Presbyterian Hospice patient, Jeanie Fite. Despite her diagnosis of ALS, Jeanie continued to paint until the end of her life. Her painting, accompanied by a photograph of her, embodies the strength and determination that can shine through even the most challenging circumstances. Jeanie’s story is a powerful reminder of the human spirit’s capacity to create and inspire, regardless of physical limitations. Another prized possession on our wall is a newspaper article celebrating PVN’s newest independent living building, The Hawthorne. This building is named after Doug Hawthorne, whose vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping our community. The article, featuring a photo of Doug perched atop the building, captures a moment of pride and achievement that resonates deeply with our team’s mission to provide exceptional living experiences for our residents. Our plan is to continue adding to this wall, allowing it to grow and evolve alongside the memories and moments that define Forefront Living. Each new addition will represent another chapter in our ongoing story. We are committed to cherishing these precious moments and ensuring that they remain a source of inspiration and pride throughout the years. ← Older Posts Newer Posts →
