Blooms of Compassion with FLF

For nearly a decade, Linda Laughlin and her dedicated volunteer group, the Giving Garden, have created beautiful flower arrangements weekly for patients at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center (TBPHC). These gorgeous arrangements bring a touch of warmth and light to patient rooms, offering comfort during very difficult times. Junior Villanueva, owner of The Garden Gate and a familiar face at TBPHC, remembers the flowers fondly when his wife Maria was a patient in 2020 and recalls how they brought a sense of happiness to those days. Last year, Junior learned that Giving Garden volunteers purchased the flowers themselves, and as one of Dallas’ premier florists, he partnered with his generous vendors to ensure the flowers would be donated for these volunteers to use for their arrangements from that point forward.

Earlier this year, when Linda expressed concerns about providing arrangements during December, as many of her volunteers would be traveling, the Forefront Living Foundation (FLF) team offered to help. FLF invited members of their Board and Advisory Council to join them making December arrangements for the TBPHC patients and loved ones to enjoy.

During the hour-long session, the room was filled with flowers and laughter, while Junior shared stories and provided a floral arranging demonstration for the group. FLF is grateful to volunteers like Linda Laughlin and those from the Giving Garden, as well as Junior Villanueva and The Garden Gate for their continued support. These efforts highlight the power of small acts of kindness, especially during this season of giving.
