BV Gathers and Grows

At Bella Vida (BV), thriving means embracing new experiences at every stage of life. Read about two recent “Thrive” events for the BV community.

Thrive: Helping Wildlife and Our Community
At one of the Thrive events, BV VIPs received expert advice from Lacey Jessamine, Director of Community Engagement at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. She shared how to safely help animals in need, peacefully coexist with wildlife and support local rescue efforts. Jessamine’s presentation led to stories from the group about their own wildlife encounters. After the discussion, VIPs enjoyed lunch as well as some delicious dairy-free ice cream treats! Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release native wildlife and to provide sanctuary, individualized care and a voice for other animals in need.

Thrive: Finding Balance in Aging
A group of BV VIPs began their morning with an active yoga session, held at the BV Information Center, which focused on the importance of balance to help reduce fall risks. The class was taught by Certified Yoga Alliance instructor, Lorelei Helmke, who led the group through practiced poses tailored to their own flexibility and fitness levels. The session wrapped up with a guided meditation followed by a light lunch.

Second Floor Social
A group of BV VIPs, who are also future residents of the second floor, recently gathered for a neighborly social. In addition to getting to know each other, the 11 future neighbors shared creative suggestions for the second-floor activity space of their future home. These suggestions included an art studio, cozy library or small theater. They also chatted about the first steps in the personalization process of their future homes and celebrated a few special VIP birthdays.
