Driven to Compassion: FPH Car Show

This past weekend was a big one for car enthusiasts in the Dallas area. The Mecum Auction was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center and another car show was held up north to benefit the Faith Presbyterian Hospice Caring Fund (The Caring Fund). The 16th annual Faith Presbyterian Hospice Car and Truck Show, hosted by the Lake Cities Misfits Car Club, revved up the community on Saturday, September 7, at Huffines Subaru in Corinth, just outside Dallas. This exciting event, which was free to attend, raised support for The Caring Fund, providing charitable care, grief support, therapeutic services like massages and music therapy, Faithful Wishes and specialized clinical care at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center.

With an array of vehicles on display, ranging from classic to contemporary, the crowd of car aficionados and families enjoyed a day of fun and friendly competition. Custom-made trophies were awarded in categories like Best of Era, Special Awards and Best in Show—Faith Presbyterian Hospice’s pick for Best in Show went to Dan Shea for his 1958 Edsel Roundup.

This annual event was created by Brad Soper of the Lake Cities Misfits Car Club, who started the show in memory of his father and as a way to give back to hospice care. This year, the event raised $800 through entry fees and generous donations to support The Caring Fund. For more information, visit the Huffines website.
