Fun and Fitness Ignite the PVN Olympic Spirit Post date July 29, 2024 With the Summer Olympics in full swing in Paris, the Presbyterian Village North (PVN) Wellness and Community Life teams hosted their own competitive events for residents. On the morning of Friday, June 26, PVN residents and teammates participated in an entertaining torch lighting ceremony to officially kick off the community’s Olympic-themed festivities. Prior to the kick-off, residents enjoyed breakfast tacos and refreshing beverages to fuel them in their quest to secure a PVN Olympic medal. Then, residents rotated through several Track and Field-inspired events including a physical obstacle course, a mental obstacle course, croquet, bocce ball and cornhole. Medals were awarded to the top men and women with the overall highest scores. PVN Resident Kathy McNeill, who served as a volunteer at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, added a special nostalgic touch to the morning by proudly wearing her official Olympics jacket. The track and field competition is part of PVN’s Wellness University program, which engages residents in various activities, outings and presentations exploring the five dimensions of wellness: physical, social, intellectual/vocational, spiritual/emotional and environmental. Wellness University offers an elevated version of typical activities available to residents during the rest of the year. This year marks the program’s 13th anniversary!Click on the video below to see PVN on NBC 5 DFW News! ← Older Posts Newer Posts →
