Get to Know Savannah Rogers

Forefront Living is pleased to introduce our new Director of Culinary Services at Presbyterian Village North (PVN), Savannah Rogers. Savannah was drawn to pursuing a career combining senior living and culinary services because of her experience during high school when she worked as a server and cook at her grandparents’ senior living community. She is enthusiastic about blending her love for seniors, proper nutrition and delicious food. We sat down with Savannah to get to know her better through a palette-pleasing question-and-answer session.


What are you passionate about regarding your professional role?
I truly enjoy working with cuisine and seniors and I am passionate about working with and encouraging others to reach their potential. Combining both of these interests makes me so happy!

What are some accomplishments that make you feel proud?
In 2020, I was honored to receive the “20 Under 40 Award” by People Newspapers. Additionally, in a previous position, I was the youngest regional to manage more than 20 senior living culinary departments. I have always been a very determined self-starter, which combined with the amazing mentorship I have received, has helped me achieve many of my goals.

Where could we find you on the weekend?
On the weekend, I like to take it easy and enjoy walking around the lake with my fur baby, Bechamel, who is named after the delicious cream sauce. If I’m not testing new recipes or cooking for my friends and family, you might find me trying a new Fort Worth restaurant with loved ones.

Share a favorite recipe:
My most recent culinary success is a Sopapilla Cheesecake recipe, by The Girl Who Ate Everything. This incredible dessert is delicious to eat and SO easy to make! With a few ingredients, you can look like an experienced chef in your own kitchen, too.

What are some of your favorite foods and restaurants?
I really enjoy authentic Mexican food and Thai food, but don’t temp me with an invitation to a good steakhouse because I will surely accept! A few of my favorite local restaurants include José on Lovers, Towne Hearth and TruFire. While I don’t have a favorite dish at these places, I do like to order something new each time I visit, and I’ve not been disappointed.

Tell us a little more about your family:
My parents live in Fort Worth, and I enjoy visiting them frequently. I have one sister, Peyton, and a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who are spread across Texas.

How would your friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as the “Hostess with the Mostess”! No matter what we are doing, I always bring treats for my friends to sample. I enjoy staying active. You can usually find me cooking for a crowd, helping a friend navigate a problem or training in the gym.
