PVN Holiday Sights and Sounds Post date December 20, 2022 While Presbyterian Village North (PVN) is a special place year-round, the festive sights and sounds filling the community during the holidays are especially delightful! Residents and teammates alike enjoy experiencing the seasonal joy that December brings, including merry community events and activities. On the evening of Dec. 5, PVN kicked off the holiday season with a special tree lighting. The annual tradition included a brief prayer service and singing Christmas carols, followed by a cookies and cocoa snack, good enough for Santa! Teammate Kaily Ellis shared holiday sweetness by leading a Christmas cookie decorating workshop. Each participant received a decorating kit complete with all the supplies needed to decorate like a professional. The completed cookies were lovely and tasty! Additionally, residents celebrated the season with a few friendly holiday competitions for most decorative door and best gingerbread house. Mary Langford took the top prize for her decorative and creative door display of nativity sets from around the world. Pam Altizer won for a bottle of wine for the best gingerbread house. The PVN culinary team dazzled more than 300 resident guests with a marvelously planned meal during the Annual Candlelight Dinner, held over the course of two nights on December 12 and 13, in the Reflections Dining Room. Residents enjoyed mingling during the pre-dinner cocktail reception followed by a seated meal. The elevated, fine dining menu included spinach salad with a cranberry-apple vinaigrette and roasted beef tenderloin served with mashed potatoes, asparagus and duck fat-fried potato strings. The special meal ended on a sweet note with an apple strudel topped with Henry’s cinnamon ice cream. ← Older Posts Newer Posts →
